Ela India April Playlist: Lake Street Dive

Our April Playlist is here. A year ago, we featured Rachael & Vilray on our Playlist and for those of you who enjoyed their music, here’s some good news.

Rachael Price (who features in Rachael & Vilray) is also a founding member of Lake Street Dive, a five member band that consists of Mike Olson, Bridget Kearney, Mike Calabrese and Akie Bermiss, besides Price herself. They’re described as a multi-genre band that was formed in 2004 at Boston’s New England Conservatory of Music. One of the complaints (legitimate, we may add!) we got for the first playlist was that the number of songs was sparse. We hope this April Playlist makes up for that. 

While Lake Street Dive's music swings between alt jazz, southern rock, indie jazz and folk rock, the songs featured here are largely skewed towards alt and indie jazz. Feel free to explore their music beyond this collection, though.
