Personal Style with Susha

Our series on ‘Personal style’ features conversations with some of our favourite Ela People from the art, design and music scene on how dressing up informs their identity and vice versa.  

We spoke to Chennai based singer and artist Subiksha Rangarajan about developing her personal style. Subiksha or Susha as she is commonly known, shared how she has become more mindful in her fashion choices, picking up pieces that complement each other rather than buying individual pieces by themselves.  

Susha’s wardrobe shows her very individual sense of style, honed over years of trial and experimentation. Here she tells us some of the ground rules she has for herself while shopping for new pieces.     

Susha: I used to be the kind of shopper who bought things in new colours. Now I tend to shop for pieces that would go well with existing wardrobe outfits. My dressing is usually simple, but I like to add unusual footwear. I am a big fan of hoops and have a couple of them in my collection. I bought a few pieces from Mejuri on a recent trip abroad, which I love. Eventually, I want to invest in a solid gold pair.
